Job Description:
A west coast utility company is looking for a Principle Distribution Engineer to support the design, maintenance, and optimization of utility-level power distribution systems. This role provides technical expertise to field crews and operations teams, develops and updates engineering standards, reviews equipment drawings, and evaluates new materials and technologies. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to urgent technical support requests, collaborating with suppliers, troubleshooting system issues, and addressing field questions, all while balancing long-term and short-term priorities.
Must Haves:
- 8+ years of experience in power distribution system design and engineering.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related degree with applicable experience.
- Experience working for a utility or contracting with a utility.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with NESC and utility standards (i.e. GO 95 and 128)
- Experience working with crews on distribution projects
